What you are looking at
These photographs are all of Carlingford Heights itself — the lodge at Mountain Park, above Carlingford village on the Cooley Peninsula, looking out over Carlingford Lough with Slieve Foy behind it. Nothing here is a stock image of somewhere else.
Inside the lodge
The heart of the house is a large open-plan kitchen and living area with a fireplace, which is where a group of twenty actually ends up spending the evening. There are six bedrooms — two of them en-suite — plus a main bathroom. The scale is the thing the photographs are there to show: this is a house built to hold a large party together in one room rather than split it across separate units.
The balcony, the deck and the views
A large balcony runs along the lough side of the lodge, with patio furniture and a swinging chair, and there is a deck at the front looking up at the mountains. On a clear evening the balcony is where everyone gravitates. Wi-Fi reaches throughout the house and there is ample parking for a group arriving in several cars.
Carlingford village, half a mile away
The village centre is about half a mile downhill — ten to fifteen minutes on foot. That is close enough to walk to the pubs and restaurants and far enough up the hill to keep the view and the quiet.
